The Microdesk Compact is not as wide as the Microdesk Regular.  Designed to be used on flat desktops, with a width of 430mm the Microdesk Compact is suitable to be used with a laptop, docking station, compact keyboard, or a confined area.

The Microdesk Makes Work Easier and Healthier

The Microdesk provides an elevated secondary work surface directly between the keyboard and the monitor.

Designed by an experienced physiotherapist, the Microdesk reduces the amount of reaching, twisting, and stretching that many people are foced to do when working with papers at their computer.

Incorporating the Microdesk into a workspace improves posture and productivity.

The Microdesk is designed to straddle the rear edge of the keyboard, creating a stable, sloping platform for hand-writing tasks, as well as support for documents, books, mobile devices, and other workstation essentials.

The secondary worksurface created by Microdesk allows inline access to paperwork for reference and writing materials as well as the keyboard.  This increases comfort and reduces twisting and reaching, while decreasing the need to stretch over or around the keyboard when needing to write notes or reference paperwork.

Eliminates Twisting at the Neck and Torso

The Microdesk is designed to be positioned inline with the keyboard and monitor, above the rear edge of the keyboard and below the monitor.

By placing documents and papers directly in front, users no longer need to twist at the neck or waist when reading referencing materials or making notations.

Reduces Overreach

By allowing user to keep papers and books inline, forward reach is significantly reduced.

By making use of the space between the keyboard and monitor for paperwork, users can be sure other key tools, such as the mouse, numeric keypad, and/or phone remain close by, further reducing reaching and twisting.

Facilitates Good Upper Body Posture

The Microdesk significantly reduces the risk of upper back and neck strain caused by repeatedly bending the neck or hunching over the desk.

Adds Usable Work Space

This secondary worksurface adds usable working space that is typically not utilised.

For many users, a sloping worksurface is easier and more comfortable to work on than the flat surface of the desk.

The Microdesk easily supports heavy reading materials and is light enough to reposition with one hand.

Clear construction allows users to store papers and supplies beneath the Microdesk, or to see the keyboard if the Microdesk is positioned directly above it.

Adjustable Height Legs

The Microdesk leg height is easily adjusted, allowing individuals to alter the slope of the platform as needed, and to elevate it to the most comfortable height for the task.

Non-slip feet ensure secure positioning on the desk.

Aids with Reviewing Documents

There are two paper ledge heights, allowing the user to select a shallow 8mm, or deep 20mm ledge.

Both paper ledges are 250mm wide and are installed on the middle of the lower edge of the platform.

The paper ledges allow ample space on either side for left and right-handed users to rest their forearm as they write.

Ledges can be swapped out easily, but remain securely in place during busy work sessions.

Also included with the Microdesk, is a removable line guide that helps users keep their place and to secure paperwork.

Assembly:

Instructions on how to assemble the Microdesk are as follows (instructions are also included with the Microdesk):

1. Slot the sides onto the platform bottom

2. Screw the feet into the side sections, making sure the feet furthest away are longer than the feet at the front

3. Put the front lip/paper ledge in place.  There are two lip choices: low or high

4. Adjust the feet height to suit either a flat surface or a keyboard tray

How to Write on the Microdesk:

- Keep your elbows within range of your body.  Avoid reaching out.

- Write with a bent elbow, not a straight arm, so you can access the function and number keys of the keyboard beneath the front edge of the Microdesk

- When writing on the Microdesk, rest your forearm comfortably on top of the platform

- Keep your chair close to the desk, and your mouse close to the keyboard

- Keep your back and feet well supported, and your shoulders and neck relaxed while working

The Microdesk suits left and right-handed writers.

There is a removable lip at the base to stop paper from sliding off.  Avoid leaning your wrist on the high lip while writing by keeping your wrist to the side where there is a flat area, or change to the low lip profile.

The ruler/line guide is included with all Microdesk models.

Avoid slumping or stooping as you work.  This posture causes tension in the back, neck and shoulder areas.  The Microdesk helps relieve this tension by positioning the body with better posture.
